Samsung Galaxy S23 FE Expected to Launch in September ;Samsung is reportedly gearing up to introduce the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE, a more budget-friendly iteration of the existing Samsung Galaxy S23, possibly in September. While official confirmation is still pending, the “fan-edition” (FE) series by Samsung typically presents a more affordable alternative to its flagship counterparts. This suggests that the Galaxy S23 FE may offer a more accessible price point compared to the Galaxy S23. As anticipation builds, a number of key specifications for the device have surfaced.
According to information shared by tipster Yogesh Brar on X (formerly Twitter), the Galaxy S23 FE is expected to showcase a 6.4-inch Full-HD+ Dynamic AMOLED display with an enhanced 120Hz refresh rate, slightly larger than the 6.1-inch screen of the Galaxy S23. In an effort to maintain competitive pricing, Samsung might make adjustments to the build quality. Additionally, there’s speculation that the Galaxy S23 FE might find its place between the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus in terms of features and specifications.
Brar further reveals that the smartphone will be powered by either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC or an Exynos 2200 SoC, with the specific choice varying based on the region. Traditionally, the Qualcomm chipset was reserved for the US and Japanese markets, while the rest of the world, including India, received the Exynos variant.
The rear camera setup is projected to include a 50-megapixel primary camera, accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 12-megapixel lens. On the front, a 10-megapixel selfie camera is expected. Additional noteworthy features encompass the Android 13-based OneUI 5.1, a 4,500mAh battery with 25W fast charging capabilities, a commitment to provide four years of Android OS upgrades, and support for wireless charging. The smartphone may also incorporate some level of IP rating to ensure dust and water resistance.
The precise launch date remains elusive, and it remains uncertain whether the device will be introduced in India. Notably, Samsung recently updated the Galaxy S21 FE for the Indian market with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, following the initial launch with the Exynos 2100 SoC last year. The Snapdragon-powered variant of the smartphone was priced at Rs 49,999. In contrast, the Galaxy S23 starts at Rs 74,999 in India, while the Galaxy S23+ begins at Rs 94,999 for the 256GB model.
If Samsung opts to introduce the Galaxy S23 FE in the Indian market, it is speculated to fall within the price range of Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000. However, it’s worth noting that the launch remains unconfirmed, and there is a possibility that Samsung may not pursue a new FE variant, especially considering that the fan-edition treatment was not extended to last year’s Galaxy S22.
