OnePlus to Launch Android 14-Based OxygenOS 14 on September 25 ;OnePlus is gearing up to unveil its next-generation OxygenOS 14 operating system for OnePlus smartphones on September 25. This latest iteration, based on Android 14, is currently in beta testing and promises a host of exciting features aimed at enhancing user experiences. However, not all devices will receive it immediately.
The initial batch of phones set to receive Android 14-based OxygenOS 14 includes the OnePlus 11, OnePlus Nord 3, and OnePlus 11R, with the OnePlus 10 Pro to follow shortly. OnePlus is actively collaborating with testers to refine the OS before its global rollout.
A standout feature of OxygenOS 14 is the introduction of OnePlus’ proprietary performance platform, the Trinity Engine. This innovative technology addresses common smartphone challenges, particularly in terms of performance and battery life after an OS update. The Trinity Engine comprises six key technologies, including CPU Vitalization, RAM Vitalization, ROM Vitalization, HyperBoost, HyperTouch, and HyperRendering. These technologies work together to ensure a versatile, fast, and smooth user experience across various scenarios, from multitasking to intensive mobile gaming and prolonged usage.
Regarding UI changes in OxygenOS 14, OnePlus has revamped the control panel, making it more minimalist with bolder icons. Additionally, there’s a convenient “search” feature on the homepage, similar to Apple’s Spotlight, for quicker app searches. The sidebar now includes a file dock for easy file saving over a limited duration.
OnePlus users can also easily toggle Hasselblad branding on or off, especially if they own a OnePlus 11. New always-on display (AoD) styles, including a “carbon footprint” theme for awareness, have been added. Furthermore, there are noticeable changes in app opening animations.
As the stable Android 14 update rolls out for OnePlus smartphone users, more features and improvements are expected to be uncovered.
In related news, OnePlus is preparing to launch its first foldable device, known as the OnePlus Open, next month. The release date for this device may align with the OxygenOS 14 launch, so stay tuned for further details.
