Hyundai has released teasers for the upcoming facelifted i20 model designed for the Indian market. The launch is anticipated to happen in the coming weeks, with the automaker expected to begin bookings before revealing the official price.
The latest teaser image showcases several key updates to the 2024 i20. These include a revised LED Daytime Running Light (DRL) setup, LED headlamps, a new grille, a 3D Hyundai logo, and a contrast-colored front splitter. The new i20 will also feature dual-tone wheels, a new rear diffuser, and a tweaked rear bumper. The model had previously been spotted during testing in India, suggesting that the launch is imminent.
In terms of interior and features, the facelifted i20 is expected to receive updates such as an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite and an all-black interior theme. The current version of the premium hatchback already offers an electric sunroof, automatic climate control, cruise control, a fully digital instrument console, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Regarding the engine and specifications, it is likely that the facelifted Hyundai i20 will retain the same powertrains, including the 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine and the 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine. A five-speed manual transmission is expected to be standard, with the option of CVT and DCT units. Diesel variants were discontinued when the model was updated to comply with BS6 Phase 2 emission norms.
The teaser images provide a glimpse of the refreshed design and features of the 2024 Hyundai i20, generating anticipation for its official launch in the Indian market.
